The city also hosts one of the nation’s largest Irish cultural events – the Dublin Irish Festival. In 2014 and 2012, the city was recognized as the Most Outstanding Global Festival and Event City in the World by the International Festivals and Events Association.

The redevelopment of the Bridge Street District continues to be a major focus of the city in an effort to bring a denser, mixed use environment to the area.
The Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC), an 110,000-square-foot facility, offers a wide range of activities complimented by 56 parks, each with a name unique to its history, plus over 100 miles of bike trails which adds to the green-living Dublin strives to achieve.
