Victorian Village

Victorian Village, first established around 1900, is known for its historic architecture and tree-lined streets. Columbus Monthly has named it a top place to live for Arts and Entertainment, with the Short North Arts & Entertainment District right around the corner. Located between downtown Columbus and Ohio State University, the community is home to a diverse mix of residents. It’s this diversity that gives the neighborhood it’s energy and vitality.

Because it joins the Short North Entertainment District, there are literally dozes of excellent bars and restaurants within walking distance of most everywhere in The Village, far too many to list here. But here’s a good place to start. The same can be said for the many entertainment options you’ll find in Short North.

Victorian Village is also home to Goodale Park, one of the largest community parks in the city. Tennis courts, basketball courts, picnic tables and walking trails make the park a popular destination in the community. Each year in late June, Goodale Park hosts Comfest, a community festival of music, art and food, all couched in a spirit of activism.

Nearby is the North Market, a vibrant public market made up of Ohio’s best independent merchants, farmers, and makers.

One activity you’ll not want to miss is the Short North Tour of Homes & Gardens. Victorian Village and Short North join forces each September for a  house and garden tour of the neighborhood, This tour comprises an eclectic mix of 10 – 11 homes. Most of the houses feature complete building renovations and restorations.
